Personal statement

Dr. Livia Pancotto is a Senior Lecturer in Banking in the Department of Accounting and Finance at the University of Strathclyde, where she also serves as the Director of the MSc in International Banking and Finance and Deputy Director of the Responsible Business Institute (ReBI). She is also a Fellow at the Centre for Responsible Banking & Finance (CRBF) of the University of St Andrews.

She earned her PhD in Banking and Finance from Bangor University, where she also completed her master’s degree in the same field. Additionally, she holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from Sapienza University of Rome in Italy.

Dr. Pancotto’s research interests encompass a range of areas, including empirical banking, European banking, banking regulation and supervision, financial stability, financial markets and intermediaries, and credit derivatives.

She currently chairs the Scientific Committee of the International Accounting & Finance Doctoral Symposium (IAFDS) and serves as an Associate Editor for The European Journal of Finance (ABS 3*).
